Friday night was my first time doing guard duty. We were divided into 3 groups, 4 will be going to the Singapore Ferry Terminal, 12 to Tekong Ferry Terminal while the rest will go to the ammo dump. I was taken with Corporal Leong to the TFT. Me and Akhesh were paired up to do prowling around Tekong. We were issued the ratten shield and baton to protect ourselves. Our shifts started from 10 to 12 and from 4 to 6. I would say it was an adventurous and exciting night for both of us.
Both of us were prowling towards the second check point when the bush on our left began shaking very violently. All of a sudden a huge wild boar dashed out of the bush and across the road infront of us. We panicked sia! Not sure if the boar would suddenly charge towards us or not! We faster hold up our batons and shields and we yelled at it. lolx...Lucky the wild boar ran into the woods and not to us. =.=". At SOC that side, we saw a few toads hopping around, so we went to chase the toads around with the baton haha. We were scared by the dogs also, when they appeared out of nowhere and starting barking. We so buay song and went to scare them back. We even saw 3 small puppies At the canteen we saw rats so again we chased them around the place also lolx...and lastly a long black coloured snake at the parade square near the guard room. I almost stepped on it if not for my buddy. Oooh!! That night, the sky was concentrated with so many bright stars! I could see Venus! The sky was so gorgeous!! Me and akhesh were taking a short rest on top of the slope at the second SOC corner. We sat there and admired the scenic view of the sky. So i added it to my sms reply to Candy also, to ask her check out the stars lolx...How wish i am watching it with a girl. It would be SOOOOOOO romantic. But too bad i was watching it with my buddy, a GUY!!! =.=".
The guard duty is really costly man. Severely aching shoulders, blisters, sleepless and abrasion at the thigh. Haiz...pain~~
