Games Day

Along with the CIS basketball players, we represented our unit to play in the basketball game for the Games Day. There were Alvinder, Max, Kevin, Jun Xiang, Nigel, Eric, Stanley, Chua and Elvin in the team. We didn't start off well probably because its the first match and we couldn't get our momentum yet. The second match was better, managed to get our momentum liao, managed to thrash them 18 to 7. However, my shooting was totally off today. The ball was always bouncing away from the ring. Yet, they kept encouraging me to carry on to take more shots and had no intention to drop me out. Not even for the semi-finals. There were many supporters from my unit watching the semi-finals. The score remained at 0-0 for quite some time before i broke the egg for my team by driving into the bottom of the ring and doing a reverse. Everyone applauded and cheered DAMN loudly for that shot. The feeling was great!! So shiok man! Just when i thought my form is back, my legs were weird. My thighs were on the verge of having cramps. Tried to do some stretching now and then to prevent it from getting worse. Managed to last till full time, but we ended with a draw. No choice, i had to be substituted out liao. The long hours of playing were wearing me out. Eventually, we ended up losing by 1 ball. Haiz...feel so sad. We could have gotten into the finals. Everyone of us fought hard for it, but maybe not hard enough? I don't know. Just so sad, sad, sad =(

Back from Bangkok!

Sawadeecarp!! I'm back from Bangkok! Just arrived in Singapore at 1210hrs. Starting to miss everything we did back in Bangkok. Really shop and eat till we dropped. It was indeed a fruitful trip, especially for the girls.

Irresistible food in Bangkok!

Over there we tried a wide variety of their local food. We had Tom Yum Gung, Shark fin, Oyster Omelette, Pad Thai, Mango Tango, Mango Glutinous Rice and Seafood!! The best thing is that all these delicious cuisines don't really come with an expensive price. They are all at an affordable and a reasonable price. Eating at a street stall (just like our 煮炒 in Singapore) costs as low as $500 Baht for about 6-8 dishes!! Doing the conversion, it costs only about $22.50 for a considerable sumptuous meal for 4 people. But have to be wary of scammers over there. Seriously regretted on 1 occasion to have accepted the offer from the Tuk Tuk driver to show us where one of the famous Thai Seafood restaurant is. Never did we thought he brought us to be "chopped" by the restaurant! We splashed quite a huge sum of $6500 Baht on this meal!!! There were Crabs, enormous Tiger Prawn, Oyster-concentrated Omelette, Pineapple Rice and Steam Fish. Really is kena con like mad! Lucky i hadn't spent much then, had enough to pay for the meal first. Argh!!

Shopping Spree!!

There were a couple of places which were part of our "targeted" shopping spots. As our hotel is just around 15-20mins walk from their "Orchard Road", it is very convenient for us to do our shopping. There were MBK, Siam Plaza, Platinum Plaza, and Paragon. MBK is bigger than our Vivo City lor. They have electronic products, local products, clothings, dresses, ornaments, cinema, shades and so on. Its a shopping paradise lor! We went all out to shop, brought back 2 huge bags of stuff back to hotel. Got fake Havainas slippers also! $199 Baht only!! Me bought 2 pairs, black and white lolx...I simply love their printed T-shirts!! Especially 1 with some words written in a blurry font. Anyone who see them may misunderstood it to be some problems with their eyes, "how come so blur one?!" Lolx. There is also another one, with a finger pointing to the side and says: "I think he's GAY!" hahaha...power man this design. Almost wanted to buy! But come to think of it, I prefer to live longer haha. Then we had the night markets and Chatuchak. The layout of Chatuchak is similar to our Bugis village but is don't know how many times larger than our Bugis village. It is divided in different sections, such as souvenir, sports wear and etc. It is where we can't control the girls at all! Keep looking non-stop on the way. Took us like 40mins to try the "Ice Kachang" there, which is only like a few mins walk away!. One of the places where they shopped like mad as well. Next there was the Suan Nam market. We actually wanted to go to Lumpini Boxing Stadium(LBS) nearby with King Yi(Candy) for her Muay Thai gears because the wholesaler is over there. Unfortunately, i supposed it only opens on the days when there are Muay Thai matches held in LBS. We went Suan Nam Market instead to look for her gears. However, those items in the night market is so much expensive!!! I went with King Yi from shops to shops, helping her ask for directions from 1 after another but yet we couldn't find a shop selling real cheap Muay Thai gears. Furthermore, it wasn't easy to communicate with them also la. Just like a chicken and a duck talking. In addition, Both of us even walked quite a distance to the nearest Muay Thai gym to try our luck but to no avail. She was very disappointed...aww. Moreover, she wasn't feeling well on that day as well. I felt sorry for her. Heng heng she managed to find another wholesaler shop near the "National Stadium" train station on the next day. She splashed $5700 Baht on her Muay Thai gears!!!! At last, she smiled and laughed again. Phew...

The photos have finally been uploaded. Thanks to Jo! ^_^

Their luggage is super light and empty! They are using the SAF daffle bag some more. =.=||| They are not going to be satisfied until they managed to stuffed the bag fully to the MAX! Their insatiable shopping hunger!

Results

I am too lazy to sms my reply to everyone who messaged me for my results. No big deal at all. Just another failed attempt, nothing great. So hope they can forgive my "daoness". As for the exact grades, can just forget it. It makes no difference at all to the outcome. All i can say is hopeless. Hmmm...Should be registering for SIM i guess. Don't think i have a choice, do I? But it seems like it doesn't offer the courses I wanted. I.e. Computer Science and Computer Engineering. An alternative would be Information and Communications Technology. Have some interest in it la but still, need to recce some more about the courses. Haiz...feeling abit lost.

Anyway, congrats to Guo Xin for doing quite well for the exams. A C D O, soso ba. Should be able to get into local U. Happy for him also. Envy~~ T_T Sadded...

'A' level release

2 days more would be the release of the 'A' level result. Having exactly the same feeling I had last year, awaiting the arrival of the moment of truth. Did very badly for the 'A' level, just hoping and praying for the better this time round. Argh! worrying man, even though I keep telling myself not to. Oh well...

Anyway, Bangkok trip is just exactly 1 week later! Lolx...looking forward to the trip because this is the first time i am going overseas with a few of my kakis (Jo, Candy and Karl!). I definitely wouldn't want to bring a sadded heart to Bangkok and play. Oh shit, I haven't got the chance to tell LTA John about it man although I have already applied overseas leave liao. Wish me good luck! Lolx..
